Pickup & Terms
By placing an order with The Gigabird Project, you agree to the following terms. Please read carefully before purchasing.
Ordering & Payment
1
Payment: Full payment is required to book your order. We accept major credit cards, PayPal, and Zelle (upon request).
Pre-Orders: We are a working farm, not a factory. Laying rates fluctuate. If you order pre-sale birds, understand that "Estimated Availability Dates" are estimates, not guarantees. We will contact you to schedule pickup once your order is ready.
Minimum Orders:
Chicks: No minimum for local pickup (though we recommend getting at least 2–3 as chickens are social animals).
Eggs: Sold in batches of [6].
Cancellation & No-Show Policy
2
Live Chicks: Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to your scheduled pickup date for a full refund. Cancellations made within 7 days forfeit 50% of the order total.
No-Shows: If you fail to pick up your birds at the agreed-upon time and do not contact us within 24 hours, your order is considered abandoned and no refund will be issued.
Store Credit: You may opt for 100% store credit instead of a refund penalty if you choose to cancel.
The "Straight Run" Policy
3
Unless explicitly marked as "Auto-Sexing" or "Sexed," all chicks are sold as Straight Run.
This means they are un-sexed. You will receive a random mix of males and females.
We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or returns for roosters.
Healthy Hand-Off Guarantee
4
Since we do not ship, you (or your designated driver) are responsible for inspecting the birds at the time of exchange.
Inspection: Please check your chicks/birds thoroughly upon pickup. By accepting the birds, you agree that they appear healthy, active, and free of physical defects.
Post-Pickup: Once the birds leave our care and enter your vehicle, we can no longer control their environment (temperature, stress, drafts). Therefore, we cannot offer a long-term survival guarantee.
Exception: If a chick passes away within 24 hours of pickup despite perfect brooder conditions, please email us with photos. We may offer store credit or a replacement on a case-by-case basis.
Transport Risk: Even without shipping, car rides can affect eggs. Vibration and heat/cold in a vehicle can impact viability.
The Policy: We guarantee the eggs are fresh (under 4 days old) and fertile when handed to you. We do not guarantee your hatch rate. Your hatch rate may be 0% or 100% depending on your incubator and handling.
Recommendation: Drive carefully on the way home and do not leave eggs in a hot car.
To protect our flock from disease, we do not allow farm tours or visits to the coop areas.
Curbside/Meeting Point: Pickups will be conducted at a designated spot (e.g., our front gate or a local public meeting point).
Safety: Please do not bring your own poultry or used equipment to the pickup location.
