Egg & Chick FAQs

I just got my hatching eggs home. What now?

  1. Inspection: Check for any cracks that may have happened during the drive.

  2. Resting: Even with a short car ride, it is best practice to let eggs settle. Place them pointy-end down in an egg carton at room temperature for 12 hours before putting them in the incubator.

  3. Incubation Settings:

    • Temperature: 99.5°F

    • Humidity (Day 1–18): 45–50%

    • Humidity (Day 19–21): 65–70% (Lockdown)

I just got my chicks home. What now?

  1. The Brooder: Have this set up before you leave to pick them up.

  2. Hydration: The moment you get them home, dip each chick's beak into the water so they know where it is.

  3. Temperature Schedule:

    • Week 1: 95°F

    • Week 2: 90°F

    • Week 3: 85°F

    • Reduce by 5 degrees weekly until ambient temperature is reached.

Do you vaccinate?

No. We do not vaccinate our chicks. We focus on strong genetics and clean husbandry. If you wish to vaccinate for Marek's or other issues, you may do so at your discretion after pickup.
